Eliyahu Goldratt biografie en boeken

Eliyahu Goldratt (1947 – 2011) was naast docent, onderzoeker en wetenschapper, ook Business Management Goeroe, met zijn baanbrekende theorie over beperkingen (Theory of Constraints) binnen managementsystemen. Daarnaast is Eliyahu Goldratt grondlegger van TOC tools zoals “the Thinking Processes“, Drum Buffer Rope en Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM).

Eliyahu Goldratt biografie

Zijn wetenschappelijke achtergrond begint bij het behalen van zijn Bachelorgraad (B.Sc.) aan de Universiteit van Tel Aviv. Vervolgens behaalde Eliyahu Goldratt een Mastergraad (M.Sc.) en zijn doctoraat (Ph.D.) aan de Bar-Ilan Universiteit in Israël.

Na een korte academische carrière en aantal praktijkonderzoeken, ging Eliyahu Goldratt werken bij een organisatie genaamd “Creative Output”. Deze organisatie verkocht capaciteit- en productiesoftware en Eliyahu Goldratt merkte al snel op dat er altijd zaken waren die implementaties blokkeerden.

Gedegen veldonderzoek en een pragmatische aanpak om die blokkades te ondervangen, vertaalde zich in het boek The Goal (1984). Dit boek werd later uitgebracht door North River Press en werd direct een bestseller.

Eliyahu Goldratt ontwikkelde nog meer handige hulpmiddelen om implementaties succesvol te laten verlopen en besloot na lange tijd om “Creative Output” te verlaten. Hij richtte in 1985 zijn eigen bedrijf op genaamd “Avraham Y Goldratt Institute (AGI)” en ging wereldwijd zijn theorie over beperkingen (Theory of Constraints) binnen managementsystemen promoten.

In die tijd heeft Eliyahu Goldratt veel ontwikkeld en was succesvol van dienst bij vele multinationals. In 1997 ging Eliyahu Goldratt met pensioen maar kon niet stilzitten.

In 2000 richtte hij de Goldratt Group op waaronder Goldratt Consulting en Goldratt Schools. Zijn doel was om organisaties in allerlei branches te stimuleren om de Theory of Constraints principes binnen hun basismanagement toe te passen. De focus hierbij was om organisaties het continue te verbeteren aan te leren en helpen toe te passen.

Ondanks de dood van Eliyahu bestaat de Goldratt Group nog steeds en zetten zij Goldratt’s idealen voort.
